As the Commercial Finance Analytics & Capabilities Manager, you will drive financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Manage complex data analysis, develop financial models, and create visualizations to summarize data for leadership.

What you'll do as a Commercial Finance Analytics & Capabilities Manager:



  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop and present comprehensive financial reporting packages for leadership, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ad-hoc financial models by conducting statistical analysis, including regression and correlation, to identify trends that enhance McLane's ability to forecast complex financial models and provide actionable insights that can be presented to leadership.
  • Tools: Utilize Python and PySpark, SQL, Alteryx, Oracle EPM, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse Automation and future tools and processes to create and maintain dashboards and visualizations that apply prescriptive and predictive analytics to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Customer Profitability Modelling and other Tools: Continuously identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and decision support in establishing and tracking KPIs to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of customer performance processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support commercial finance initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate financial performance, trends, and risks to leadership and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in financial analysis matters.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to direct reports and other team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications you'll bring as a Commercial Finance Analytics & Capabilities Manager:



  • Advanced degree in economics, statistics, finance or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in analytics, with a focus on commercial finance.
  • Proven experience in building visualizations and dashboards.
  • Expertise in scenario planning, what-if analysis, and automation.
  • Experience with model development, validation, and accuracy tracking using metrics and back testing to assess forecast performance in financial services.
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, Oracle, Power BI, Alteryx and DAX queries, Microsoft Fabric, Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture and managing data within One Lake.
  • Ability to use Dataflows and Notebooks for data transformation and advanced analytics.
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
  • Specialty in analytical modeling, statistical, and machine learning techniques including sampling, hypothesis testing, optimization, and decision trees.
  • Strong knowledge of handling large data sets and creating data stories.
  • Expertise in statistics, regression, correlation, forecasting, and time series analysis.
  • Understanding of prescriptive and predictive analytics.
  • Project Management.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present data insights to leadership.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
