Summary:
The Manager - Radiation Oncology role is responsible for supervisory and complex clinical work in directing the services of Radiation Therapy. Work includes performing the more complex procedures in the division, supervising a staff of technical and clerical personnel and overseeing all related training activities. Work may be performed at several locations across Maine or New Hampshire. Work is performed independently and is reviewed by the Administrative Director of Oncology (with additional physician feedback) through discussion, reports and observation of results achieved.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred
  2. License/Certifications: Registered Radiation Therapist through A.R.R.T or Licensed Registered Nurse required.
  3. Experience: Five years experience in radiation therapy and possession of excellent managerial and organizational skills. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all radiation therapy procedures, techniques, equipment and materials used as well as a high level of technical proficiency in performing all such procedures at a level generally acquired during two to three years of progressively more responsible experience in radiation therapy, as an advanced level of therapy tech.
  4. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, physics, chemistry, radiation safety as well as radiation therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment and safety and health precautions.
  5. Analytical ability to assist in development of operating and capital equipment budgets, policies and procedures for area of responsibility, and in service and training programs for students, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Interpersonal skills necessary to direct and supervise the work of a small group of nonexempt technical employees, instruct students and technologists in Radiation Therapy procedures, and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
