Our Business Unit Lighting and Imaging offers challenging lighting and image transmission solutions for applications in the markets of automotive, aviation, medical devices, as well as industrial and safety engineering. With production units in Europe, North-America and the worldwide SCHOTT sales organization Lighting and Imaging is a leading supplier for fiber optic components.

Your Contribution
  • Program, maintain, and support current inspection systems including CMM (MCOSMOS), OGP vision systems, Zygo interferometers, Keyence comparators and profilometers, and custom systems.
  • Investigate / develop / manage new inspection projects to support continuous improvement efforts and new product development.
  • Develop and update inspection processes and equipment procedures.
  • Train and develop associates in proper inspection methods and equipment use.
  • Support incoming inspection with completing complex inspections.
  • Implement, collect and analyze process and product data through various internal data management systems.
  • Develop and perform measurement qualification. (GRR)
  • Acquire in-depth, hands-on knowledge of product specifications and internal production processes.
  • Assist R&D and Sales by reviewing customer requirements and implementing appropriate inspection methods and equipment.
  • Translate detailed customer, regulatory, or military specifications to production appropriate detail.
  • Collaborate with Sales team and customers to resolve unclear/conflicting specifications.
  • Provide direct support to Quality Engineers and inspectors.
  • Correlate or investigate variances of internal and customers' measurements.
  • Operate as site metrology SME, including collaboration with various SCHOTT sites worldwide.
  • Support the Mexico Team on Quality topics including but not limited to process capability analysis and metrology.
  • Audit internal QMS and product processes.
Your Profile
  • BS in Engineering, or similar technical discipline.
  • Two (2) years related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the field of optics.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of GD&T and how to evaluate.
  • Robust experience with manual measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.) and electronic measurement systems (vision systems, optical microscopes, profilometers, interferometers, CMMs, custom systems, etc.).
  • Experience in product and process audits.
  • Experience in following / maintaining an ISO 9001, 13485, AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Strong analytical ability and a disciplined problem-solving approach.
  • Computer proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Able and willing to work independently and in a team structure.
  • "Hands on" and integrated mentality.
  • Desire to challenge status quo with "outside the box" thinking.
  • Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status is required.
