Position Summary:

The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor plays a key leadership role in overseeing clinical nutrition operations, supporting staff development, and ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance within the department and Feeding Preparation Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participates in staff recruitment and selection processes, recommending staff for hire. Conducts orientation, training, and continuing education programs within the department and for other hospital staff. Administers competency assessments for professional, technical, and support staff.

  • Supervises daily operations of assigned clinical nutrition services. Develops and maintains staff and student schedules. Motivates and develops staff. Conducts performance reviews and recommends hires, promotions, pay increases, and disciplinary action.

  • Participates in developing and implementing nutrition-related goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and standards of care in collaboration with other hospital staff to improve efficiency and quality of patient care and overall operations in the Feeding Preparation Center.

  • Monitors and maintains compliance with departmental quality improvement initiatives, governmental and accreditation requirements, professional credentialing, and state licensure requirements. Applies regulatory knowledge of agencies including The Joint Commission, DPH, FDA, and CMS.

Qualifications:
  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or a closely related field required

    • Master's degree preferred

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive dietetic experience in pediatric nutrition

    • Demonstrated experience in project management and staff leadership

    • Experience with centralized feeding preparation or milk lab operations is a plus

  • Certifications/Licensure:

    • Registered Dietitian (RD) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

    • Licensed Dietitian in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

    • ServSafe Manager certification preferred
