Join our team as a Research Associate in Enology and contribute to groundbreaking research that enhances winemaking processes and wine quality. In this dynamic role, you'll support senior staff by executing complex experiments and assume laboratory administrator duties when necessary. Your day-to-day will involve planning and executing experiments at various scales, from laboratory to plant, to refine commercial winemaking processes. You'll prepare and conduct experiments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict methodologies. Data collection and analysis will be key, as you document findings using standard documentation and information systems, and write detailed reports to support ongoing research projects. Collaboration is at the heart of our work. You'll participate in cross-functional teams and interdepartmental projects, conduct advanced microbiological, fermentation, biochemical, and chemical testing, and maintain research notebooks to regulatory standards. Regular reporting on experiment status and conducting work at site wineries during the grape harvest will be part of your routine, as well as developing new technical skills and staying current with the latest scientific literature. Routine maintenance of equipment, ensuring a tidy workspace, and participating in general laboratory housekeeping are essential. Additionally, you'll coordinate off-season experiments, manage inventory, and facilitate equipment repairs. As a laboratory administrator, you'll handle ordering supplies, coordinating equipment service contracts, maintaining preventative maintenance schedules, and managing chemical inventory lists. Compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations is crucial, and you'll be responsible for ensuring your team's adherence to these standards.
