Description

The Tasting Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our REX HILL Tasting Room, one of the Oregon Brands of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates. We are looking for an individual that embodies the values and intentions of the REX HILL brand through gracious hospitality, commitment to positive teamwork, flexibility to a wide range of circumstances and grace under pressure. This role is responsible for providing consistently welcoming, educational, and enjoyable experiences for all our guests. Key responsibilities include supervising and coaching hospitality staff in wine and membership sales, participating in winery tours, hosting wine tasting experiences, and executing established policies and procedures. The Supervisor plays a vital role in achieving monthly sales goals, maintaining a smooth flow of service, and fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment. Our REX HILL Winery is located in Newberg, Oregon in the heart of Oregon's renowned wine country.

Job Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Hospitality



  • Ensure every guest receives a warm, memorable, and high-quality experience.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of wines, vineyards, and winemaking to support sales and guest education.
  • Actively host tastings, tours, events, and off-site tastings representing the winery with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Support winery events and coordinate staffing needs.


Team Leadership



  • Supervise all aspects of daily tasting room operations while providing recognition of exemplary service and role modeling service principles.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate team members; provide clear and regular performance feedback.
  • Coordinate educational programming, facilitate communication with the team on business results and company announcements, and hold regular staff meetings to grow and develop the Tasting Room team.
  • Oversee all aspects of Tasting Room staff scheduling, including collaborating with partners to coordinate various events and winery business, and ensuring staffing is in line with monthly staff budget allowances.


Sales & Outreach



  • Drive wine and Wine Club sales through direct customer engagement and staff coaching.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with local hospitality contacts including hotel concierges, B & B operators, and restaurants to increase referrals.
  • Network and build relationships with like-minded wineries, targeting mutual referrals to qualified clientele.
  • Oversee and coach the tasting room team on outbound sales techniques.


Tasting Room Operations



  • Oversee and execute daily operations processes to ensure compliance (examples include shipping laws, PCI, cash handling, workplace safety, and alcohol service).
  • Maintain expert knowledge of POS systems, reservations systems, and oversee opening/closing procedures.
  • Maintain attractive, brand-aligned merchandising.


Position Requirements:



  • 3 years prior hospitality experience in a tasting room, restaurant, or hotel preferred.
  • Prior sales experience preferred, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives.
  • Proficiency in Commerce 7 POS & Tock reservation system preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, which includes standing and walking for prolonged periods of time as well as being able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. up and down stairs.
  • Requires regular weekend availability as part of a full-time work schedule.
  • Must be 21 or over 21, have a current OLCC license (or can obtain), food handlers' certificate, and current valid driver's license.


Your Compensation:

Range of $49,920 - $58,250 per year plus commissions & incentives.
