Maintenance Technician (Millwright)

Huntsman is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Millwright) supporting the Performance Products Division located in Freeport, Texas. This position will report to the Maintenance Plant Supervisor.

Job Scope

A Millwright Technician to perform routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting various pieces of rotating equipment which would include but not limited to pumps, cyclones, gear box, agitators.

What will be expected from you:

  • Must work in full compliance with the Huntsman approved safety regulations.
  • Perform component installation, system maintenance and repair work as assigned and carry out preventive maintenance and service as required.
  • Able to perform alignment of pumps, troubleshooting of equipment failures and recommended improvements on regular maintenance activities.
  • Reading diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Capable of performing laser alignment and dial indicator runouts on equipment.
  • Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Access and use OEM manuals.
  • Ensures all new rotating equipment projects are installed and commissioned properly as specified.
  • Layout, drill, and level base plates
  • Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during employment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
  • Review and act on vibration analysis reports.
  • Plan out rotating equipment repairs (task generation, resource needs, duration and materials)
  • Overtime, both scheduled and call-out to respond and support site equipment needs

Other General Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks.
  • Experience in participating in "Permit to Work: and "LOTO" procedures
  • Utilize SAP to order parts, materials, and update work orders.
  • Mechanical aptitude in dealing with tools used by machinist/millwrights (e.g., alignment, vibration, precision tools, etc.)
  • Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts to move mechanical parts.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • 6 to 10 years of Millwright experience.

  • NCCER+ (Knowledge Verification and Performance Verification) Industrial Millwright

  • Completed Millwright Apprenticeship

  • Journeyman Millwright (72 months with 9,360hrs of work experience)

  • Forklift certification required.

Skills and knowledge

  • Ability to determine improvements and corrective actions concerning equipment repair and to institutionalize in written documents.
  • Ability to create and update repair / maintain procedures.
  • Time management, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Operators, Engineers, Plant leadership, Maintenance, and Materials.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate:

  • Capable of troubleshooting and repairing process equipment.
  • Experience working with vertical Sundyne centrifuges and positive displacement pumps is preferred.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Crane and rigging certifications a plus.
