Responsibilities
Parkwood Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility): Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis. As treatment options and patient care innovations have continued to become available we strive to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients. At Parkwood, our caring staff focus on providing compassionate care to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities. We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. For more information about Parkwood Behavioral Health System, please visit our website at https://parkwoodbhs.com/ ADON Full-time - Days Includes a Rotation of 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (every three (3) weeks) Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Assistant Director of Nursing provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff. The Assistant Director of Nursing is a liaison to department directors and administration to insure coordinated and efficient operations of services and departments. The Assistant Director of Nursing promotes patient care consistent with the vision, goals, mission of Parkwood Behavioral Health Systems and standards of practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. The Assistant ADON of Adult Services provides supervision and oversight of Adult Services (Seasons , Ivy Trails , Adult East & Adult West) and assist with other units as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nursing program-strongly preferred. MSN---preferred EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years clinical experience with psychiatric mental health population-preferred, previous clinical supervisory role in a psychiatric setting- preferred . In absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within a reasonable time frame via the organization's orientation and training program. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN. Must obtain APIC Certification within 2 years of employment. KNOWLEDGE: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training What do our current nurses value at UHS?
