Position Title: Battery Fabrication Operations Engineer Location: Romulus, MI. Qualifications Required: Minimum of associate's degree in a Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline. Experience in Lithium Ion Battery or Electric Vehicle development preferred. Motivated self-starter and creative problem solver. Willingness to be in a hands-on role and learn to operate cell manufacturing equipment. Ability to effectively collaborate. Position Description: OEM is seeking a skilled, motivated individual to join our team as a Battery Technologist. In this role, you will work actively in a laboratory/pilot line setting on a diverse, multi-functional team producing development-level battery cells to progress our Battery technology that will be deployed in our next generation electrified vehicles. This will be a very hands-on opportunity with most time spent out at the Pilot Line working with the manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities to include: Work collaboratively in a prototype lab with scientists and engineers to make battery cells from raw materials. Operate state-of-the-art production-level battery cell manufacturing equipment through all stages of cell manufacturing - Hands-On. Ensure inventory in-place to conduct development builds. Conduct quality inspections on parts you've just produced. Collaborate with the quality team to ensure full suite of quality checks are conducted and learnings are fed back to cell build team. Drive continuous improvement of operations and process. Support establishment of procedures and documentation of lessons learned.
