General Purpose of Job:

Works with the physician that specializes in the management of complex airway and pleural diseases. Interventional pulmonology offers advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to aid in the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the lung. Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of pulmonary patients under the guidance of the interventional pulmonologist. Serves as a single point of contact for physicians, patients and caregivers to provide resources and assistance to those patients with lung disease.

Inpatient clinical work can include:

• Inpatient consultation and follow up
• Presenting patients at multidisciplinary tumor board discussions
• Pre-procedure H&Ps and consents
• Independently performing inpatient pleural and airway procedures
• Assisting in bronchoscopic procedures
• Participates in procedure based clinical trials
• Patient education

Outpatient clinical work can include:

• New patient and return clinic visit consultations
• Pre-procedure/Pre-p[ clinic evaluation
• Outpatient thoracentesis clinic - evaluates and performs procedure
• Lung cancer screening - pulmonary nodule program
• Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction program
• Research / Database collection
• Patient education
