JOB SUMMARY
The Parking Enforcement Officer works under limited supervision while patrolling and monitoring parking zones in the UT Southwestern Campus area for violations and initiates appropriate action to ensure compliance with parking restrictions as established. Monitors parking facility capacities and reports results.
All individuals who may be called upon to drive a UTSW vehicle shall have a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and points will be assigned accordingly as indicated below. An acceptable point total range to drive a UTSW vehicle shall be between 0-3.5. Any individual whose total points equal 4 or greater shall not be permitted to operate a UTSW vehicle.
Schedule is 11 am - 8pm, Monday - Friday.

JOB DUTIES
- Interprets parking regulations and state laws to effectively enforce parking violations.
- Investigates and resolves parking complaints both proactively and on call by the dispatcher or other associated entities as assigned.
- Operates a hand-held ticket writer to identify scofflaws and vehicles in a suspended status. Notifies the supervisor of any unusual circumstances and when vehicles are in need of towing.
- Provides information to customers regarding general information, directions, and parking related issues. Parking related information will be provided in order to increase voluntary compliance, maintaining a positive traffic flow and to improve conditions for maneuvering internally on campus, and at the critical points of entrance and exit of campus facilities. Aids motorists who have stalled cars, flat tires, or who are locked out of their vehicles. Provides action and/or information regarding parking incidents when requested by the supervisor, administration, and/or the Traffic Parking Appeals Committee.
- Immediately reports criminal activity, traffic problems, and other campus related problems to the dispatcher.
- Directs vehicle and pedestrian traffic at assigned locations to ensure the safe flow of traffic. As directed, occasional overtime is required to assist with on campus special events.
- Recommends traffic control and parking sign improvements to the Parking Enforcement Supervisor.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to parking equipment, including gates and pay-on-foot stations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
