Description
Chevo is hiring an experienced Appropriated Fund Financial Analyst to join our expanding firm. This position provides the opportunity for significant client interaction by learning the client's business better than they know it and to become a trusted advisor. Ideal candidates will demonstrate versatility in understanding and performing work related to supporting financial management within a Department of Defense (DoD) organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparation of budget proposals and tasks.
  • Track expenditures against the approved budget.
  • Prepare financial analysis and reports.
  • Prepare/assist with reallocation requests and unfunded requirements.
  • Support the resolution of accounting issues and transactions such as unreconciled transactions, payment discrepancies, and unliquidated obligations (ULOs).
  • Monitor unliquidated obligations.
  • Utilize financial systems to assist and/or process funding packages to include document creation and validation.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to generate reports.
  • Conduct trend and variance analyses.
  • Communicate updated budget forecasts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses as requested by budget managers.
  • Implement processes and controls to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Conduct reviews to identify and address compliance issues.
  • Provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.
  • Maintain detailed records of budget-related activities and transactions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, plus 10 years of financial management experience supporting financial management for Appropriated Funds
  • Or 5 years of experience and any of the following degrees/certifications; a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Certified Defense Finance Manager (CDFM), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting one or more DoD organizations
  • Experience in accounting operations management desirable.
  • Ability to build dashboards to visualize data
  • Experience with intelligent automation such as RPA and AI
SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000
