The HR Specialist plays a vital role in supporting Jamar's talent acquisition and broader human resources objectives. This position partners closely with department leaders to align recruitment strategies with business goals, manages the full-cycle recruitment process to align with organizational needs, company culture, values and processes. This role ensures a seamless and positive experience for candidates and new hires, provides ongoing support for onboarding and HR administrative processes, and serves as a knowledgeable resource on HR policies and compliance. The HR Specialist acts as a primary point of contact for new and existing team members, supporting HR processes such as benefits administration, leaves, compliance, auditing, and payroll. The ideal candidate is professionally driven, highly organized, excels in relationship building, and is committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence within a structured HR environment.

Experience/Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, organizational management, or related field of study, or a combination of education and professional HR experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years' experience structured Human Resource role, including talent acquisition, onboarding, and team member data management within HRIS.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills to collaborate business leaders and drive operational objectives.
  • Attention to detail, dedicated to maintaining consistency, accuracy, excellence in work, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated professional drive with strong commitment to achieving results and pursuing continuous improvement.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office products; Word and Excel, PowerPoint. HRIS systems, Oracle preferred.
  • Flexibility / planned travel for recruiting and training, company / jobs site visits and key evening / weekend events as needed.
  • Valid state driver's license

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with department leaders to align staffing plans with business strategies and goals.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment processes to ensure alignment with workforce planning, culture, values and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a strong candidate pipeline through proactive sourcing, networking, and outreach initiatives, including participation in community events, job fairs, and local partnerships.
  • Actively engage in online networking using professional platforms such as LinkedIn to attract top talent, promote open roles, and strengthen Jamar's employer brand.
  • Collects and analyzes information and data to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment efforts, providing valuable input aimed at continuous improvement. Effectively uses metrics and data in people strategy decisions
  • Plan, facilitate, and participate in interview processes, ensuring consistency, and a positive candidate experience.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates and new team members throughout onboarding, ensuring questions and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data management for recruitment / requisitions and onboarding.
  • Support and coordinate the onboarding process, company training via learning management system platform and auditing.
  • Support internal process for benefit changes, transitions, documentation, record updates and team member off-boarding.
  • Advise leaders and team members on company practices, policy, employment law, HR initiatives and serving as a trusted resource and advisor.
  • Provide support with HR-related processes including timekeeping, payroll, benefit administration, leaves of absence, and internal audits.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues on company-wide projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR processes and team member experience.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.

This role will be based out of our Duluth MN office. The pay range is $57,000 to $84,800 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual discretionary bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.Some benefits include
