Job Description

Job Summary:

Work with cross-functional team across Mercury Systems and with our suppliers across a broad range of services and goods to keep production on schedule and satisfy the needs of our customers.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Purchasing of goods, materials, and services to meet company operational needs.
  • Considering: price, quality and delivery and ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Processing the request for quote process and MRP report, order placement, order maintenance, resolution of invoice issues, resolution of quality concerns, and order follow up.
  • Procurement activity may range in low dollar value to high value, complex requirements requiring negotiations.
  • Meet internal client objectives while achieving maximum cost effectiveness.
  • Responsibility for specific products and/or range of services across varied commodities and end uses.
  • Meet departmental key performance indicators in cost saving, supplier management, on time delivery and inventory management.
  • Close interaction with planning, engineering, production, accounts payable, quality management, business development, and leadership across the corporation.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, the ability to think strategically and critically analyze details.
  • Project management experience will be utilized to support new programs and the initiatives that drive sourcing strategies.
  • Supplier engagement early in the development phase and ensuring all cost targets are met.
  • Communications with programs and leadership are expected.


Required Qualifications:



  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in ERP/Oracle systems.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of government compliance - FAR/DFAR, CPSR.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve with minimum oversight.
  • Planning, negotiation and agreements/contract management experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a flexible and changing environment with multiple competing deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Technical knowledge of Procurement/Sourcing.
  • Experience in defense industry.


Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $86,400 - $172,800 for an Individual Contributor III at Saddle River/West Caldwell, NJ USA. The disclosed salary range is a general guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed above and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees.
