Salary:$70,000 - $85,000 in base plus bonus

About the role

The Sr. Software Licensing Consultant (Sr. SLC) can support all customers but are assigned the most complex customers under management. They are "experts" in all aspects of licensing, contracts, agreements, and many other models of the technology they support (Microsoft and all others that are added) and will train all team members so that our customers receive the best possible support and advice. They will work with Sales to ensure that the customer understands all aspects of their relationship with the manufacture (Microsoft) and provide guidance and support to ensure customer satisfaction. They can support all aspects of the sales cycle and can complete the opportunity with or without the sales team's involvement. Working as a part of a cross-functional team including sales, operations, finance, and product management, the Sr. SLC provides best-in-class software licensing support for Insight's largest clients. Effective communication skills, creativity, and a drive to learn continually are essential to success in this role.

As a Senior Software Licensing Consultant

  • Function as the subject matter "Expert" of the assigned manufacturer's software licensing. This will span across multiple software brands - not just one. Be confident in presenting licensing information in all forms of communication.
  • Develop and maintain expertise on the manufacturer's products, programs, competitors, and the industry overall.
  • You may be expected to travel to present to customer executive management team regarding their software agreement needs. This may include renewal and true up advice and counseling.
  • Will be integral to guiding the account team in closing specific business opportunities, including renewals, true-up, net new business and QBR's.
  • Ability to coach/mentor new/existing teammates on how to excel at all aspects of the SLC role.
  • Your knowledge of how the software systems tie back into cross sell and upsell opportunities is greatly needed by the sales team to Identify specific business opportunities during customer conference calls and meetings.
  • Provide measurable data to management on Key Performance Indicators including renewals and true-ups and may be called in to defend the status of specific large-scale opportunities.
  • You will own all aspects of the Agreement/contract with a large-scale customer which includes all aspects of communication across the customers teams and sales teams. One example is the T-36 model that is required by Microsoft for their Enterprise Agreements.
  • Expert at providing licensing support for transactional Microsoft licensing programs including MPSA, CSP, Select Plus and Open Value/Subscription.
  • Support the client in their decision making by providing detailed analyses of the available options and working collaboratively achieve the client's goals. Should be able to show 3-, 6- and 9-year analysis of cost options for the customer.
  • Collaborate with Insight Product Manager and manufacturer representatives on sales, product awareness, and the competitive environment

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college/university, 5-7 years' experience in product knowledge or combination of education and experience.
  • Must be Certified Microsoft Partner Commercial Executive (P-CE)
