The Indirect Procurement Category Sr Manager-Technology is responsible for creating significant reductions in initial costs by category, monitoring and approving strategic buyer strategies, and seeking year-on-year improvements in total cost of ownership, maintaining or improving service levels. Evaluate and monitor the performance of procurement teams, manage, and develop employees. Work closely with stakeholders and Executives to develop effective cost-reduction strategies, procurement planning, and execution plans.
This position will require the candidate to report and work from the office five days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

Essential Job Functions/Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead, manage and develop other Category Managers in the Procurement Organization.
- Act as leader in managing the total cost of ownership of the Procurement function.
- Plan and lead sourcing and supplier strategies to achieve best cost and service that are aligned with business priorities and operational needs.
- Implement McLane policies and procedures related to Procurement.
- Implement the 7-step sourcing methodology for all of McLane to utilize in the Procurement function.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and develop alternate sourcing strategies to ensure the highest quality at the lowest cost Working with cross functional team, establishes vendor qualification strategy and supplier relationship development programs.
- Manage the implementation of the Source to Pay (S2P) across the Indirect Procurement space.
- Implement category decisions made by the respective categories in the Indirect Procurement area. Review, monitor and approve strategic plans by category.
- Providing support and continuous improvement opportunities within functional team and across all business units.
- Lead cross functional teams to drive successful project and category outcomes/results.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align business demands, category/contract strategy, and execution.
- Develop negotiation strategies and commercial terms with suppliers to achieve business objectives.
- Monitor the selection and management process of current suppliers, verifying compliance with the policy.
- Track performance of each category under his/her management.
- Develop and communicate sourcing recommendations to executive leadership.
- Understand RFI, RFQ and RFP processes and support as required.
- Lead supplier performance, relationship, and development activities to ensure compliance and high service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, business, or related technical/analytical field.
- Master's degree and industry certifications preferred
- 8 or more years of experience in progressively increasing areas of procurement including 4 or more years of leadership experience.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills are required.
- Strong verbal and written business communication skills.
- Ability to recognize market, refining, and supply nuances that impact daily decisions.
