Job Type: Full-time with overtime

Experience: 1 year preferred (Will train)

Reports to: Paving Superintendent, no supervisory responsibility

Wage: $23-$26 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

A portable concrete plant cement tender will play an important role in maintaining cement and fly ash inventory for the portable concrete batch plants. If you enjoy working independently, in a team, or being a part of exciting projects, this may be your ideal career. Primary Responsibilities:



  • Maintain portable batch plant and power supply.
  • Keep daily quantities of powder supply.
  • Oversee unloading and direct powder tankers in the yard.
  • Hook trucks up to silos for powder transfer.
  • Lift heavy objects, tear down, maintain, repair, and clean equipment.
  • Perform a variety of tasks in the concrete paving industry.
  • Operate tools and equipment as needed.
  • May execute tasks at heights from elevated platforms.
  • Make general repairs to facilities as well as troubleshoot issues (hydraulics, pumps, motors).
  • Ensure all regulations, laws, and safety standards are strictly adhered to.
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.



Position Requirements:



  • Team player mentality and eagerness to cross-train on topics such as dispatching, batching, mechanics, etc.

    • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.


  • Personal protective equipment is required.

    • Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.


  • Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
  • A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
  • Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
  • Overnight travel is standard during peak season (paid per diem).
