What Supply Chain Planning contributes to Cardinal Health
Supply Chain Planning is responsible for ensuing the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. This job family is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning, supply planning, deployment planning, inventory planning, collaborative planning, expediting, purchasing and the design and implementation of the supply chain network.

Job Summary

The demand planning manager will own the responsibility of driving team members to create accurate demand plans by working cross-functionally with finance, commercial marketing, and supply planning teams. The demand planning manager will liaise with the Kinaxis CoE on forecasting process improvements, projects, and fine-tuning statistical forecasting models to increase forecast accuracy. The demand planning manager will also act as a change agent to drive industry standard and best demand planning practices to foster the global planning S&OP|E maturity journey.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop the Demand Planning Team:Own the responsibility of driving team members to create accurate demand plans by working cross-functionally with finance, commercial marketing, and supply planning teams.
  • Forecast Accuracy and Process Improvement:Liaise with the Kinaxis CoE on forecasting process improvements, projects, and fine-tuning statistical forecasting models to increase forecast accuracy.
  • Industry Best Practices:Act as a change agent to drive industry standard and best demand planning practices to foster the global planning S&OP|E maturity journey.
  • Develop and Implement Demand Plans:Oversee the development and execution of a fully integrated demand plan/forecasting process covering a 12-18 month horizon with associated analytics, channel/category segmentation, and metrics.
  • Lead Monthly S&OP Forecasting Process:Drive supply chain efficiency by leading a monthly S&OP forecasting process.
  • Data Analysis and Insights:Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to assess product and category performance, ensuring trends are appropriately captured in item level demand plans, including base item and promotional forecasting, event planning, and weekly/monthly performance analysis and insight.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings to drive alignment between demand forecasts and business strategies involving finance, marketing, supply chain, and sales.
  • Communication and Reporting:Communicate R&O, and recommended actions needed to achieve target levels.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Budgeting and Cost Optimization:Assist in developing annual budgets and streamlining costs.
  • Forecast Maintenance:Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
  • New Product Forecasting:Update forecasts for new products, seasonal products, discounts, and promotions.
  • Team Management:Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, and retention activities.
  • Training and Development:Maintain training materials and organize trainings to team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 8+ years of experience preferred
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP, or IBF demand planning certification preferred
  • Kinaxis experience highly encouraged
  • Experience with S&OP|E cycle, forums, and tiers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to effectively partner and collaborate with those leading and working on the commercial side of the business.
  • Strong process-focused communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Travel Expectations: <10%

Anticipated salary range:$86,400 - $129,570

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidates geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
