Description Background Information: Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Compliance Intern to be based in our Arlington, VA office. Leveraging advanced software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI-driven capabilities, IDT accelerates capability development, enhances operational readiness, and reduces lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. The company is dedicated to transforming defense systems through innovation, efficiency, and mission-critical results. Overview: As a Compliance Intern, you will ensure our systems adhere to stringent compliance standards, including DoD regulations, NIST, FedRAMP, and more. You'll manage audits, risk assessments, and contract reviews, supporting effective governance across our operations. All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. Responsibilities Include: Compliance Management:Ensure adherence to DoD, NIST, FedRAMP, and other relevant standards. Contract Review:Analyze and evaluate contracts to maintain compliance. Security Inspections:Conduct facility inspections and system audits. Risk Assessments:Identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies. Compliance Tools:Utilize software for audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability management. Certifications: Stay updated with FCSB, CIC, and CISSP certifications, applying knowledge in daily tasks. Minimum Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a undergraduate degree program majoring in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related field. 0-2 years of Compliance, IT, or Security experience in the U.S. Defense sector. Required Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, audit tools, and penetration testing platforms. Knowledge of DoDCAS, FedRAMP, NIST, and ISO 27001. Proficiency in compliance tools, audit software, and penetration testing. Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience in compliance management, preferably in federal/DOD environments.
