Job Title: Peer Review Coordinator, RN

Full Time 1st Shift

Job Description:

Responsible for the coordination of Process Excellence/ Daily Management activities and facilitation of peer review performance activities for physicians and allied health professionals. Supplies and reports data as appropriate, utilizing various software systems and statistical analysis. Analyzes data for trends and communicates with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and Executive Director of Quality.

  • Contributes to overall education and communication about quality program, processes and tools.
  • Communicate with the director to resolve problems/concerns, making suggestions to improve outcome processes to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
  • Participate as a team member as requested.
  • Facilitate meetings and teams as requested.
  • Utilizes Process Excellence methodologies such as DMAIC, LEAN, Six Sigma, Change Management, PDCA and FOCUS PDCA. Leads Process Excellence projects.
  • Analyzes and interprets data that facilitates clinical practice patterns and is consistent with evidence-based medicine.
  • Assists in activities in various quality clinical databases in conjunction with the quality department.
  • Peer Review - Case Review / Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE)/Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE). Coordinates peer review program to identify and monitor indicators reflective of medical staff quality that meets governing and regulatory standards and expectations.
  • Gathers and compiles medical staff quality and clinical outcomes data for review and facilitates identification of opportunities for improvement.
  • Conducts data analysis that directs and supports performance improvement efforts for the Medical Staff and others within the hospital.
  • Performs other related duties as requested and meets commitments
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards, and national patient safety goals.

Requirements:

  • Current, active Kentucky RN license
  • BSN Required
  • Completion and maintenance of BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, EMTALA training and other designated unit specific certification and training requirements
  • Minimum Process Excellence Certification Greenbelt.
