- Full Time: 1.0 FTE
- Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
What you will do:
- Leading, mentoring and supervising a team of Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and support staff.
- Assigning and coordinating work schedules, optimizing staffing levels for efficient operations.
- Conducting regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development.
- Overseeing a wide range of clinical laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking.
- Ensuring strict adherence to laboratory procedures, protocols, and safety standards.
- Managing inventory levels, initiating supply orders, and overseeing equipment maintenance.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control and quality assurance programs, aligning with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA).
- Participating in proficiency testing, inspections, and audits, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Contributing to the creation and reviewing of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Supervising the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating routine maintenance, and arranging for equipment repairs.
- Staying informed about advancements in laboratory technology and recommending updates as necessary.
- Reviewing and validating test results to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
- Collaborating closely with healthcare providers to interpret findings and communicating results effectively.
- Maintaining detailed records of laboratory procedures and results.
- Providing training, orientation, and ongoing education to laboratory staff.
- Fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the department.
- Supporting the team in staying current with best practices and industry developments.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology
- Minimum of 2 Years experience as a Medical Technologist, with demonstrated leadership experience required.
