Description
SUMMARY Administers all aspects of AMPP's standards development operations. Provides support to members and operations staff for AMPP standards committees, joint committees, and ISO TAGS in the development and publication of standards, guides, and technical reports. Coordinates with the department director, Technical Engagement team, and other staff teams to expand AMPP's technical programs, products, and services. Ensures the production of technical standards that are relevant to industry and meet the goals of AMPP. Ensures optimal processes, appropriate tools, and positive user experience for committee volunteers. Assists is managing standards-related products, content, contracts, and partnership agreements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out manager responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance appraisals and feedback; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 10 to 15% travel is expected for this role and passport is required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS Good oral, written, and communication skills are required. Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Good English grammar and spelling skills required. Above average ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, employees of the organization, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to develop and interpret business graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Demonstrated personnel management skills including, but not limited to, the ability to evaluate staff performance and provide direction, is highly desirable. Ability to work in a multi task environment taking into account various external factors and to communicate efficiently and accurately to both managers/supervisors and subordinate staff. Requires advanced computer skills including knowledge of computerized business management tools, word processing, spreadsheet software, excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate the association goals with members one on one or in large settings (public speaking). Requires creative, detail oriented individual with ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously.
