SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Front Office Manager POSITION TYPE: Full Time Seasonal WAGE RANGE: $17.50/hr POSITION SUMMARY: Perform sales and customer sales related to guest registration, processing reservations and revenue collections in a manner that will ensure that Schweitzer guests receive a secure place to stay with friendly and attentive services. Applicants should be 18 years or older. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recognize, greet and extend warmth and hospitality to guests. Respond appropriately to information requests and complaints. Effectively use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms, encourage advance reservations and promote other resort activities such as restaurants, gift shops and other resort marketing programs. Operate the front desk office equipment such as the switchboard, computer, and calculator. Process and control room reservations. Accurately and efficiently collect revenues from room rentals and other purchases. Provide security for guests by controlling room keys, verifying cash banks, making safe cash drops, preparing cash reports, following credit card verification procedures. Complete paperwork necessary for front desk operation. Perform other tasks assigned by hotel management. This Shift will include a variance of shifts including am/pm weekends and holidays. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May work up to 10-hour days with an average of 8 hours on your feet. Will use hands for fine manipulation (typing, computers and writing). Sensory skills of vision, speech, hearing and touch are required. Some lifting of skis and luggage required. Worksite is the Selkirk Lodge/White Pine front desk and reservations departments. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist reservations department with guest reservations and information. Aid with group functions if necessary. Help with baggage at check-in and check-out, some housekeeping and general office upkeep. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Basic computer and math, good judgment when dealing with the public EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, computer literate EXPERIENCE: Two years work experience in a customer service position, previous hotel experience a plus.
