Schmidt Construction, part of the Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Quality Control Technician to work at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The Quality Control Technician tests materials and assists in maintaining or modifying aggregate gradations to meet customer's demand, using moderately complex testing methods and equipment. Pay: $23-24 Schedule: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri (Occasional Nights and Weekends) Benefits Competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Prescription, 401(K) with 3% Employer Contribution, Long- and Short-term Disability Tuition Reimbursement for qualified programs Student Loan Repayment Program Employee Referral Program Responsibilities The Quality Control Technician will: Comply with all safety regulations, policies and record keeping Perform routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running gradations, washes, moistures and picking deleterious) Determine appropriate handling procedures and sampling techniques for specific applications Perform moderately complex testing procedures - determining specific gravity, unit weight etc. Maintain work area for cleanliness and to allow safe movement and access Enter data and generate reporting from the aggregate quality reporting system Meet internal and external customer service expectations Skills The ideal candidate will have: Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to Climb ladders, scaffolding and stockpiles Basic knowledge of office machinery and software Knowledge of various laboratory equipment Good verbal and written communication skills. Valid Driver's License Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
