The Role

Medallia is hiring for a Senior Financial Analyst on our Functional FP&A team. This individual will be the primary FP&A point of contact for IT, Legal, and People & Culture, responsible for managing their headcount and vendor expenses. This role will partner closely with the executives that lead these organizations to drive cost optimization and process improvement. This position requires business partnership experience, a deep understanding of variance analysis and monthly close processes, strong Excel skills and exceptional business acumen. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and able to operate independently with little oversight in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment as Medallia continues to scale as the industry leader in Experience Management.


Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to the G&A business unit, including Legal, People & Culture, and IT, by proactively collaborating, influencing, and aligning the G&A monthly planning processes to achieve departmental and overall company strategy.
  • Lead the monthly close and forecast process for partner organizations, including reviewing open PO accruals.
  • Hold monthly reviews of actuals and forecast data with executives and their leadership teams.
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of financial forecasting including approving PRs, forecasting for terminations and backfills, and maintaining an always-live forecast.
  • Lead the annual financial planning process for partner organizations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience supporting Business Finance (i.e. G&A, Sales and Marketing, Engineering or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience with financial planning tools (i.e. Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience of core FP&A monthly close and forecast processes (variance analysis, headcount reconciliation, collaboration with Accounting team)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting IT, Legal, and HR functions
  • Experience on a FP&A team in a public and/or private equity-owned company
  • SaaS Industry experience
  • Deep experience in building models and strong experience with Excel
  • Anaplan and NetSuite experience
  • Strong communicator with ability to convey complex concepts in a simple way

Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. Medallia considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, candidate's work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
