MaineHealth, Orthopedics Sports Medicine & Podiatry is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our growing Orthopedic Sports Medicine Practice at Franklin Hospital in Farmington, Maine. This position provides a unique opportunity for candidates to be based full-time, providing patients with orthopedic services in the Farmington community. The successful candidate will provide medical care and practice medicine with physician supervision, including conductingexaminations and writing prescriptions through office-based evaluation and treatment of outpatients.This role will be supporting orthopedics in several locations: Emergency Room, Operating Room, Office and In-patient.The Orthopedic program at Franklin includes state-of-the-art elective and trauma based orthopedic surgery coupled with a robust outpatient orthopedic, sports medicine practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program withtwo years of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience preferred. Acute Care Certification required for Nurse Practitioners.
  • License/Certifications:Active Nursing license; certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Current Physician Assistant license issued by the State of ME or eligible of licensure, NCCPA certification.
  • Current BCLS.
  • Minimum 3 years Orthopedic PA/NP experience preferred: Clinic, OR/first assist, and call coverage.
  • Experience in general orthopedics total joint, sports medicine, and/or trauma preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and take call.
