Position Overview
Position Summary |
The successful candidate will be required to assist with the development and coordination, and administration of comprehensive sports medical program for participants of University intercollegiate sports; Assist with the maintenance of a program of preventive physical care for Winston-Salem State University's athletic teams; assist with the determination of the acquisition of safety equipment and supplies applicable to the respective intercollegiate sports; compile and maintain statistical records of team injuries and medical data for the Athletic Department. Study, evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment in physical training and physical therapy. Preferred familiarity with
NCAA governing rules.
The candidate must have the ability to effectively maintain
CPR/First Aid/
AED certification, be
NATA
BOC certified, and be eligible or state licensed by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners. Communicate and build a positive rapport with college level student athletes, coaches and physicians, follow all state practicing regulations as well as any applicable guidelines set forth by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification. The candidate will also be mindful and adhere to all
NCAA/
CIAA rules and regulations.
Candidate will teach classes as designated by the
HPSS Department. Class times may vary based on schedules.
Candidate will required to teach a maximum of 6 credit hours in our
HPSS Department.
Requirements
Master's degree in athletic training, health, physical education, exercise science or other science related background.
Candidate must have
NATA
BOC and have NC License credentials or be able to obtain prior to start date.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in collegiate athletics preferred.
