Summary of Job Duties:The William Dillard Department of Accounting in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas seeks applications from interested candidates to fill a full-time Executive in Residence position effective August 11, 2025. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

The Executive in Residence position is a non-tenure-track, teaching-focused position with a four-course (12 credit hour) teaching load each semester. Teaching duties primarily includes in-person undergraduate classes, but it can include on-line courses as needed by the Department. Duties include holding regular office hours, providing timely grading feedback for students, and conducting the class so as to facilitate learning for all students, consistent with good teaching practices. All full-time faculty are responsible for participating in program curriculum development and reviewing and maintaining program currency, viability, and quality along with activities linked to particular course assignments.

Duties include discipline-specific intellectual engagement activities to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines, consistent with AACSB Instructional Practitioner or Scholarly Practitioner status. Departmental service activities are expected. Reduced teaching loads may be

Minimum Qualification:

  • Master's degree in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited business school

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualification.

  • Professional certification of CPA, CMA or deemed equivalent.

  • 15 years or more of professional accounting experience.

  • C-Level or Senior Executive Experience with large firm environments or equivalent.

  • Candidates must maintain instructor practitioner or academic practitioner qualifications consistent with AACSB Standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFO or controllership experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate student learning in individual and classroom settings.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage faculty and external partners.

  • A passion for education and a commitment to student development.

The William Dillard Department of Accounting: The department develops outstanding students and faculty who meaningfully impact the global accounting community. The department currently has twelve tenured or tenure-track faculty members, eight teaching/clinical faculty members, eight full-time instructors, and several part-time lecturers. The department offers an undergraduate degree program in accounting and graduate programs at both the master's and doctoral levels. The department also offers a five-year integrated program, which leads to the simultaneous awarding of an undergraduate degree and a master's degree.
