Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Develop requirements verification documents and test plans, test objectives, test methodology, and evaluation criteria.
  • Provide support to develop/update the System Engineering documentation including Systems Integration and Test Plan (SITP), the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), and the Systems Verification Plan (SVP).
  • Develops operational concepts, requirements, and architectural designs; evolves system architectures, conducts and analyzes requirements flow down, proposes verification methodologies and mitigation approaches.
  • Support implementation of common Test and Evaluation database for the program; integrate Digital Engineering and Environment processes.
  • Support audits, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Deficiency Review Boards (DRBs), Materiel Improvement Process Review Boards (MIPRBs), and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).
  • Review and assess Integration-related deliverables; work closely with multiple Integrated Product Teams to refine test and integration implementation of strategies.
  • Develop and present packages to communicate recommendations, assessment, and strategies to customers at different levels; conduct IPT meetings/reviews and collaborate with integration and test teams.
  • Develop and document risks and mitigation plans for systems engineering, and integration; use Digital Engineering and Environment tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence, etc.) for different efforts.
  • Provides Systems Engineering expertise across the entire lifecycle from concept development to operations (for Space, associated Ground systems and, or the Ground Systems/Command & Control services that operate those capabilities).
  • Provides technical oversight of development efforts.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years demonstrated experience in systems engineering.
  • 10+ years with system specification, verification, or analysis.
  • Experience with space systems and/or military satellite communication systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Desired Requirements:

  • MS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.
  • Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and Protected Tactical Systems, or COMSATCOM.
  • Experience working with military or DoD civilian clients.
  • Experience with space and ground systems, such as satellite communication, ground terminals and DoD networks.
  • Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP).
  • Certifications in MBSE (OCSMP).
  • Certifications in Agile Development.
  • Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence.

Education Requirements:

  • BS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science. An equivalent technical degree (such as MS in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science).

Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required for this position.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

The pay range for this position in California is $160,000/year to $185,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job- related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
