Phoenix Defense is looking for you to join an internship opportunity in Orlando, FL!

SUMMARY:

Test Engineer Intern will provide support to the assigned sub team (Tech Ops, Functional, Embedded, Automated, and Mission Command) within Integration and Test team. The responsibilities will include but not limited to install and troubleshoot JLCCTC system (Tech Ops), perform functional test (Functional), develop test plans (Embedded), perform Mission Command installation, troubleshoot, and test (Mission Command), or develop automated testing modules (Automated Team). All I&T members will use ticketing system (JIRA) to document the new and existing issues. Other duties include providing on-site and phone support to integration events and exercises. The candidate must be able to work with scheduled deadlines and communicate professionally both written and verbal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Record issue found in ticketing system (JIRA)
  • Verify fixed issue from the ticketing system
  • Update or create O&M manual as required
  • Update or create training materials as required
  • Perform regression and smoke testing of the system
  • Travel to on-site locations to provide exercise support
  • Travel to on-site locations to provide support during integration, test, and validation events
  • Provide Tier 2 Helpdesk support


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 3rd or 4th year of Bachelor's degree program pursuing Computer Science, Engineering, Gaming, IT, Cyber or other related field of study
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in software installation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:



  • Knowledge of operating systems and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job role.
