Reporting to the Head of Verification & Validation, this role will be based in the US, ideally in San Diego (Pacific Standard Time Zone), expected to work our device lab at least 4 days a week.

The V&V Mobile Ecosystems Lead is heavily customer and Partner (Apple, Google) facing and plays a crucial role in bridging Cubic's technologies with Apple's and Google's mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobile Test Strategy Leadership: Drive a cohesive testing strategy that aligns with organisational goals and ensures quality of mobile applications (including tooling, test automation)
  • Collaborate with Apple and Google: Represent Cubic as the main Point of Contact with these mobile platform providers to stay abreast of releases, updates, guidelines, and best practices driving Cubic's release plans and ensuring Apple and Google points of contact are updated.
  • Integration Oversight: Ensure hardware components such as readers, validators, and Ticket Vending machines are seamlessly integrated with Mobile applications
  • Decentralised testing coordination: Provide guidance and support to mobile app testers embedded within project teams, ensuring consistency in testing practices and adherence to the overall test strategy.
  • This person will support multiple programs with heavy involvement during launch and acceptance testing
  • Gain a thorough understanding of our Back Office Software system, as the majority of mobile features leverage existing sub-systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Software Testing/ V&V roles
  • At least 3 years of direct experience in Mobile application testing, including both ios and Android Platforms
  • 3 years of experience in the Mobile Payments domain preferred

Tech skills

  • Deep understanding of mobile application ecosystems, including app deployment processes, mobile OS release cycles, and integration practices
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (Appium)
  • Familiarity with mobile hardware integration (contactless readers, validators, etc.)
  • Proficiency in using defect and test management/ tracking tools like JIRA, Test Rail, or equivalents)
  • Understanding of back office software systems and their integration with Mobile components

Leadership and communication

  • Demonstrated experience driving mobile test strategy across cross-functional teams
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management experience, particularly with external partners like Apple and Google.
  • Ability to represent Cubic externally in release planning and Mobile platform alignment discussions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal development/testing teams and partner stakeholders.

Location

  • Ideally in San Diego, working closely in the Test Lab with the testing team at least 4 days a week.

Condition of Employment

  • The successful outcome of a National Police Check

Cubic Pay Range:

$129,204.00 - $157,916.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
