Overview:

The Accounting Analysts position is responsible for assisting in the organizations daily cash applications process. This role's main responsibility is to ensure all cash is posted correctly by the end of day. Along with these responsibilities, you should expect to respond to inquiries from Rimkus employees and clients, research data, cultivate relationships both inside and outside the company, and help within the organization where needed. A detail-oriented individual with the ability to work well in a team environment or with little direction is the ideal applicant. Additionally, this applicant needs to be able to manage their time effectively to ensure deadlines are fulfilled on time.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Apply payments daily ensuring they are in the system by the end of the day accurately
  • Research payments and remittance within the system
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records in cash applications folder
  • Respond to external and internal inquiries in a timely manner
  • Record and process credit card payments utilizing internal credit card form
  • Manage client refunds ensuring they are researched and processed with AP
  • Collaborate closely with the billing team to make necessary modifications to invoices
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts Receivable team to make necessary modifications to payments
  • When required, providing payment backup to the appropriate individuals
  • Maintain write offs along with write off requests
  • Collaborate closely with Rimkus offices nationwide & at a corporate level
  • Follow up with the proper parties as to duplicate payments received or payments in question
  • Assist in cash applications clean up when asked
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Competencies:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Applications Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Capability to comprehend, read, and adhere to written and spoken directions; able to adhere to various practice policies
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Possess excellent verbal and writing communication abilities
  • Must be able to meet deadlines as assigned as well as multitask
  • Goal-oriented and with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to find solutions to problems creatively, strategically, and analytically
  • The ability to function well under pressure


Required Education and Certifications:



  • Two-year degree in related field desirable; high school diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years of Cash applications or Corporate Collections


Physical Demands, Overtime, and Travel Requirements:



  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • The ability to spend extended periods of time in front of a computer
  • Sharp vision and depth perception is required
  • Ability to work overtime if needed
  • Employee must be local and required to come in office 2-3 times a week
  • Possible 10% of occasional travel
