Salary range:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $95,400 - $400,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting academic faculty in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is ranked number 1 in research and teaching among global universities and ranked number 26 in clinical care by the US World News.

Faculty are encouraged to get involved in various sub-sections within the division and engage in active learning and will be provided and expected to participate in divisional and departmental activities and demonstrate engagement.

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality training and the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows in didactic and clinical settings. The successful candidates will also be participating in the clinical care of patients, and/or research related to one or more division-related academic interests.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD in Gastroenterology or health-related fields.

Candidates with an MD or equivalent must be board certified or eligible in Gastroenterology or related field.

Candidates with an MD or equivalent must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates must also have a minimum of 1 year of training in GI procedures (ie. EGD, colonoscopy, push enteroscopy, and PEG tube placement) along with moderate sedation.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates that have completed GI fellowship training are preferred.
