An Outside Plant Technician works in the telecommunications industry, primarily focusing on installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications infrastructure like fiber optic cables and copper wires outside of buildings. This includes both underground and aerial installations.
Key responsibilities of an OSP Technician include: * *Installation:* Installing and connecting cables, wires, and associated equipment in various locations. * *Maintenance:* Repairing and maintaining existing telecommunications networks, troubleshooting issues, and resolving outages. * *Documentation:* Maintaining records of installations, repairs, and any changes made to the network. * *Safety:* Ensuring all work is conducted in a safe and compliant manner. * *Customer interaction:* Communicating with customers to explain issues, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction. * *Troubleshooting:* Identifying and resolving faults and errors in existing lines. * *Construction work:* Digging trenches, placing poles, and stringing cable *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
