Job Purpose

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Media Relations to lead and enhance our media engagement efforts. This pivotal role involves collaborating with communication teams from companies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), influencers, and other groups visiting the NYSE to develop and execute comprehensive media relations plans for significant announcements, IPOs, and major milestones. The ideal candidate will possess extensive media contacts across various sectors and will proactively engage with a broad spectrum of media outlets-including broadcast, digital, and print-to facilitate coverage from the NYSE trading floor and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Media Planning: Partner with visiting organizations' communication teams to develop and implement media relations strategies that maximize coverage of announcements and events at the NYSE.
  • Media Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media representatives across diverse sectors, ensuring robust coverage of NYSE activities and enhancing the Exchange's visibility.
  • Event Coordination: Oversee media logistics for events, including press conferences, interviews, and live broadcasts from the NYSE trading floor, ensuring seamless execution and optimal media exposure.
  • Facilitating Media Connections: Assist communication teams from visiting organizations in connecting with appropriate press contacts, either by coordinating reporting from the NYSE Floor or by broadening outreach to engage additional media representatives with company executives.
  • Content Development: Prepare and distribute press materials such as press releases, media advisories, and briefing documents to support media coverage of NYSE initiatives.
  • Media Outreach Initiatives: Manage media outlets reporting from NYSE, bringing them unique opportunities and insights available from the trading floor.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including communications, marketing, content teams, events, and executive leadership, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of media relations activities with organizational objectives.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in media relations or public relations
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful media relations strategies and campaigns.
  • Established network of media contacts across all media, specifically broadcast, digital, and print outlets.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and effectively convey complex information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Base Salary Range for New York

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $133,900 - 170,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's rewarding and uncapped sales commission incentives. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
