SUMMARY

The Warehouse person will be responsible for receiving, processing, and strong inventory according to company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in fast paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pull parcel or LTL orders using order paperwork.
  • Operate pickers and sit down forklifts.
  • Maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Use Windows based warehouse system to look up locations, systematically pack orders, etc.
  • Cross-train in various areas of department, including receiving, packing and picking; to provide coverage as necessary.
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
  • Report any discrepancies.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization. Facility clean up and personal work station clean up daily.
  • Report any discrepancies.
  • Participate in events seeking to continuously improve work processes.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly company meetings.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisor and co-worker.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Critical Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of warehouse functions.
  • Ability to count and verify items picked or packed.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and ability to use them for warehouse functions.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the structure and content of the English language to include the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to follow directions.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in warehousing operations preferred, but not required
  • Successful completion of TB Woods PIV/Forklift License training and certification required upon hire.

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Work environment includes exposure to dust particles and weather elements. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift: safety glasses, gloves and steel-toe shoes.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 70lbs, standing for long periods of time, good hand and finger dexterity, and ability to bend, twist, reach and walk.
