Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose |
Under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager and the Director, Faculty Dental Service Group performs various patient and financial management functions.

Essential Functions |
- Answer telephones, greet patients, check in patients for all specialty clinics, respond to inquiries, schedule, and confi.rm patient appointments. Send a new patient packet to the patient.
- Perform duties related to patient intake; prepare and input patient information and acquire insurance information; verify patient liability for completeness and accuracy.
- Contact patients by letter or telephone regarding insurance coverage, or account balance.
- Resolve patient dissatisfaction or concerns; refer patient to appropriate individual for problem resolution when necessary.
- Follow up with patients that have cancelled or failed and reschedule. Follow up with emails and phone calls on a daily basis.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager and/ or Director of
- Faculty Dental Service Group.

Minimum Qualifications |
Knowledge of:
- Dental terminology and treatments.
- Dental insurance procedures.
- Accounts receivable principles.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail systems.
- Patient management system software.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a group practice or dental school setting.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
- Position is full-time, five (5) days per week, thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours per week, Monday-Friday.

Ability to:
- Communicate effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and students.
- Effectively utilize clinic management system to enter and manage patient information.
- Resolve patient concerns regarding any issue and refer to the proper person to assist.
- Explain financial obligation for dental procedures when necessary.
- Compose, type, edit patient correspondence.
- Maintain professional composure and demeanor.
- Pay close attention to details
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) highly desirable.
Other:
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Physical Requirements |
1. Work performed is primarily general office/clerical; requires sitting majority
of the working day.
2. Occasional standing, walking, and bending/stooping.
3. Frequent use of computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone. |
Hiring Range |
31.45 per hour |
