About the Role:

Role will be leading a team and collaborating with cross-functional areas to drive project execution and contribute to portfolio advancement. This individual is expected to actively contribute to scientific advancements both internally and externally.

Your Contributions (include, but not limited to):
  • Designs and performs multiple experiments to support scientific activities and project goals involving cell including primary human leukocytes, mouse splenocytes and biochemical assays

  • Generates and interprets data and works with complex assay system, with a strong understanding of advanced data analysis and statistical tests

  • Manges advanced cell-based assay development, including primary cells, coculture and ex vivo tissues

  • Independently sets up the in vitro assays to understand the cellular functions of innate and adaptive immune cells as well as the cell-cell interaction

  • Advanced experience in isolating primary immune cells from various organs in experimental animal models.

  • Expert experience in human PBMC isolation, lymphocyte proliferation, activation, cytokine secretion and differentiation assays

  • Conduct multiple color flow cytometry assay including intracellular staining and prepare for cell sorting as well as flowcytometry data analysis

  • Creates and maintains SOP's and writes data summaries for experiments conducted

  • Provides training and/or supervision to junior staff, as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree and 4+ years of relevant experience OR

  • MS degree and 2+ years OR

  • PhD and some relevant experience; may include postdoc experience

  • Advanced tissue culture techniques, including knowledge of human PBMC isolation, mouse splenocyte, iPCS and precursor cell handling and differentiation as well as hematopoietic cell differentiation

  • Strong knowledge of NGS technologies, their implementation, and data analysis & relevant statistical tests

  • Gene manipulation techniques, including cloning, and use of gene expression manipulation technologies (ASO, siRNA, miRNA, AAV transduction)

  • Tissue handling techniques for detection of gene and protein expression, including fixation, sectioning, IHC, histological staining, ISH

  • Advanced knowledge of one or more scientific disciplines especially Immunology

  • Advanced knowledge of scientific principles, methods and techniques.

  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability working with a variety of laboratory equipment/tools.

  • Basic molecular biology skills including mRNA isolation, TagMan, NanoString and scRNAseq experience is highly desirable

  • In vivo experience of autoimmune diseases and other inflammatory diseases is a plus

  • Ability to work as part of a team; may train lower levels.

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented yet can see broader picture of scientific impact on team

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

  • Strong project management skills

  • Demonstrates solid level of understanding project / group goals and methods

  • Consistently recognizes anomalous and inconsistent results and interprets experimental outcomes

  • Able to explain the process behind the data and implications of the results

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $108,600.00-$157,350.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
