Location Fort Novosel, AL Job Posting No Req. 111526, Pos. 113161 Start Date TBD Contract FT Novosel AMS Salary Range DOE Posting Date April 9, 2025 Union No FLSA Status Exempt Shift Work Possible FT/PT Full-time Relocation No Travel Possible M1 Support Services (M1) is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Continuous Improvement Specialist to support our Fort Novosel AMS Contract. This position reports to the M1 Fort Novosel Continuous Improvement Manager. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Coordinates, synchronizes, and executes Lean, Six Sigma & Theory of Constraints (LSS/TOC) activities, goals and objectives with directors, program managers, and the office of Continuous Improvement. * Establishes action plans and follow-up meetings, as needed, to advance process improvements and achieve targets. * Provides technical support, direction, guidance, and instruction in the areas of LSS/TOC data collection, management, and reporting. * Instills "hands-on," systematic approach to problem solving. * Plays an active role in problem resolution and communicating LSS/TOC plans to directors, program managers, and workforce; and follows up to ensure problems are resolved. * Identifies, assesses, and analyzes data to determine director and program manager requirements are met. * Continually challenges individuals and teams to improve through systematic application of continuous improvement methodologies while leading by example. * Leverages statistics and other data analysis methods to provide data to upper management, directors, and program managers. * Serves as a member on continuous improvement teams to help with data analysis, problem solving and presentation of solutions to various levels of the organization. * Effectively communicates improvement project vision in order to gain support from key stakeholders. * Ensures smooth adoption of new processes by addressing resistance and fostering a culture of change. * Facilitates Kaizen/rapid improvement events and/or time studies to drive improvements in performance. * Ensures processes are in accordance with current regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends. * Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. In addition, the candidate should possess the following requirements: * Ability to analyze data. * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. * Strong ability to effectively, and diplomatically, communicate in written and verbal formats across the workforce. * Proven ability to build consensus across functional areas and shifts. * Actively utilize a "Collaborative Team Approach" in all situations. * Proactive style that ensures the completion of projects despite obstacles. * Ability to build interpersonal relationships within a maintenance, repair, and overhaul business environments. * Strong Microsoft Office skills - Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position and obtain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government. Education: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or five years' experience in aviation maintenance preferred. * Successfully completed formal training conducted by the U.S. Army or Armed Forces equivalent, or training courses conducted by industry or civilian institutions in continuous improvement methods. * Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt from a major certifying agency preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: * This classification activity is typically accomplished in an office environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities. Typical physical demands or activities include climbing, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, kneeling, reaching and walking. May be required to lift objects, which normally will not exceed 10 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
