POSITION SUMMARY Performs senior level operational duties, including administrative duties in the absence of the Financial Aid Operations Manager. Responsible for Default Management Plan and Financial Literacy Program. Reviews and adjusts awards to prevent over awards. Prepares Complete WD's for Return to Title IV (R2T4). Counsels with students, prospective students and other clients regarding the financial aid application process and estimated awards. Serves as resource for the department. Track and awards state scholarships. Provides students, visitors, faculty and staff with one-stop quality service by sharing accurate information and knowledge in the broad areas of admissions, advising, financial aid, registration, and other processes administered by Student Services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for performing all duties associated with ENMU-Roswell's Default Management plan, including reporting information to ENMU (Portales) and to any third-party servicers.
- Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Financial Literacy Program.
- Responsible for the support of all departmental functions necessary for the daily operations of the Financial Aid department, and for all activities related to the support of the One-Stop customer service model.
- Responsible for providing technical support for the financial aid database system (Banner), student loan processes and Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) software required for processing financial aid applications, corrections and student loan applications.
- Administers the student loan and electronic data exchange programs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Works with the main ENMU campus on loan default prevention.
- Responsible for overseeing the default management program on campus by providing access to all pertinent information and ensuring that all students have completed an Entrance Counseling Session outlining their rights and responsibilities as a loan borrower, as well as, provide in-person Exit Counseling Sessions to all students that meet the criteria, outlining their expectations and providing support information.
- Responsible for maintaining a Banner and Loan Office Procedures manual.
- Reviews and executes all student loan requests, awards student loans, and ensures students' eligibility by completing required documentation and maintaining reconciliation with the ENMU main campus as well as verifying proper disbursement of loan funds.
- Maintains that all students receiving loans are eligible per the guidelines of the Subsidized Usage Limit Applies (SULA) regulations.
- Responsible for processes related to Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) including ISIR data load, submission and receipt of corrections, and upload of transfer monitoring files.
- Advises and counsels students in financial aid process.
- Tracks and disseminates to staff changes to regulations and procedures in real time as related to best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Assists Financial Aid administration with implementation and modification of financial aid general and Banner processes in an effort to create improved efficiency and consistency.
- Administers the imaging and indexing process utilizing WebXtender to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the process while maintaining compliance with federal and state record-keeping standards.
- Will verify a portion of student files following federal regulations.
- Serves as primary backup for most other essential duties as necessary including, but not limited to, verification, work-study, front window coverage, and serving as a subject matter expert.
- Conducts formal financial aid workshops for college classes or area high schools.
- Attend Federal and State workshops and trainings as well as Banner trainings.
- Provide support to other staff while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ONE STOP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create an atmosphere of effective, efficient, friendly and reliable service, providing an easy, accessible, credible resource from which individuals can access information.
- Serve as first point of contact for new students and community members, by disseminating college information including academic programs, enrollment processes and financial services.
- Assist students in conducting registration activities such as understanding course offerings, adding, dropping, wait listing, auditing and withdrawing from courses.
- Provide students with information regarding residency.
- Assist students with online services.
- Screen and schedule appointments for advisors, financial aid and/or other division staff.
- Guide prospective students in determining appropriate entry level, completing admission documents, and meeting college requirements.
- Refer students and visitors to college personnel, according to established protocol.
- Assist with the development of policies and procedures, keeping the procedures manual current.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe and efficient manner and with minimal supervision.
- Assist with campus events (i.e., orientations; open registrations on campus and at satellite sites, college fairs, and commencement) and other special projects, as requested.
ESSENTIAL CROSS TRAINED FUNCTIONS:
- Work with students, parents and college personnel to explain admissions and registration process and requirements.
- Provide admissions and records information to students and parents including academic standing, transcript requirements, and residency policies.
- Provide assistance and information about how to apply for admission, request transcripts, register for courses, and update personal information such as address, phone number, or academic major.
- Provide forms and assist students in completion of required admissions and records documentation in person, online, or via telephone.

- The employee must possess the ability to operate current technology utilized by the department, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Banner, WebXtender, telephones, fax machines, copiers, scanners, and computers.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree and three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with students and/or the general public in a customer service environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
