Coperion is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Production Engineer to join our dynamic team in Whitewater, WI. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of equipment design for our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, production methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively in a demanding environment.

Work You'll Do:

  • Design and develop equipment for material handling, weighing, and feeding applications

  • Create 3D models, design fabrication drawings, and specifications for customer, manufacturing, and vendor utilization.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and purchasing.

  • Implement design changes and modifications to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute innovative ideas to enhance production capabilities.

  • The role involves periodic visits to the onsite manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery and equipment.

  • This position may require occasional travel to other company-owned manufacturing sites, supplier facilities, or customer locations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Inventor preferred).

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with various stakeholders.

  • Previous product design experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferred.
