What You'll Do

As the Fixed / Static Equipment Engineer, you will be directly involved in the reliability effort for the site through collaboration between the engineering, maintenance, and operations teams. You will assist managing the Static Equipment program to affect a reduction or elimination of identified operational risks within the plant including mechanical and facility related systems. Other duties will include:

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure Safe Act Observations (SAO), Job Step Analysis (JSA), Take 5's, and all safety rules are being completed.)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Responsible for the management of Static Equipment per the IPL standard.
  • Supports Business Excellence initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility.
  • Small Management of Changes, Focused Improvements, or Capital Expenditure projects.
  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
  • Receives close direction from Engineering & Reliability Manager.
  • Ensures that all static plant equipment assets have effective Reliability and Capability Life Plans and maintenance strategies.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Planners to ensure that preventive and predictive maintenance work orders are aligned with equipment maintenance strategies.
  • Complete equipment failure investigations using root cause analysis techniques.
  • Conduct engineering statistical reliability studies from the risk assessments, criticality data, corrective maintenance history, and failure history.
  • Assure compliance to relevant external statutory regulation and internal plant and engineering standards and communicating such requirements to the relevant stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgy, materials, mechanical, manufacturing, or chemical engineering.

  • Experience in maintenance and/or engineering of a petro-chemical manufacturing plant, power generation, or similar heavy industry environment in the field of reliability of static plant equipment is preferred.

  • Certified or working towards qualifications such as API 510, 653, 570, 571, 579, and 581 preferred.

  • Knowledge of static plant equipment and knowledge of materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes and procedures.

  • Experienced in risk identification, analysis and mitigation strategies.

  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
