Overview Department Information
The Carbon Neutral Energy Solutions (CNES) Laboratory at Georgia Tech is a state-of-the-art research facility dedicated to advancing sustainable energy technologies. Spanning over 42,000 square feet, CNES houses extensive office spaces, chemical wet labs, high-pressure labs, and isolation labs, all supporting cutting-edge research in carbon-neutral energy solutions. The building shares critical infrastructure with the Ben T. Zinn Combustion Lab (BTZ), including two high-pressure labs, two isolation labs, and a central control room, creating a highly interconnected research environment. The CNES facility requires meticulous coordination of office moves, vendor interactions, and robust collaboration with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and facilities teams to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive environment. The Building Coordinator role at the Carbon Neutral Energy Solutions Laboratory at Georgia Tech is integral to the smooth operation and maintenance of this dynamic research facility. The position demands hands-on involvement in daily operations, ensuring the safety, functionality, and organization of both lab and office spaces. Responsibilities include regular inspections of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) stations, fire extinguishers, safety stations, and building equipment, as well as managing inventory, shipping and receiving, and maintaining chemical compliance. The role also involves facilitating office moves, coordinating with vendors, and supporting building modification projects. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication are essential, as the Building Coordinator will work closely with the BTZ facility manager and building coordinator to support shared infrastructure and personnel. Facilitate building maintenance services within an assigned facility. Services include custodial, deliveries, assistance with office moves, equipment installation and maintenance and building security.
