Job Summary
Join the Adolescent Reasoning Initiative at UTD's Center for BrainHealth. The research team aims to understand the impact of implementing executive function in middle school and high schools throughout Texas.

Research Data Specialist I

Assist in providing highly technical data processing skills to aid various research responsibilities, research data processing and analysis.

Research Data Specialist II

Provide highly technical data processing skills to aid various research responsibilities, research data processing and analysis.
Minimum Education and Experience
Research Data Specialist I:
Bachelor's degree with six (6) months of experience in a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may be considered.

Research Data Specialist II:
Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of experience in a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
Research Data Specialist I

  • Familiarity with REDCap statistical program and MS Excel.
  • Statistical knowledge.
  • Familiarity with IRB and research protocol approval steps.
  • Collaborative nature and willingness to work closely with team to achieve goals.
  • Data-driven and refined attention to detail required for the successful candidate.
  • Ability and willingness to learn about student assessment, cognitive strategies assessment, organization and collection of research data and coding, following human subject research protocol.


Research Data Specialist II

  • Experience writing codes in REDCap statistical program and MS Excel.
  • Statistical knowledge/experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with IRB and submitting timely protocols for approval.
  • Collaborative nature and willingness to work closely with team to achieve goals.
  • Data-driven and refined attention to detail required for the successful candidate.
  • Ability and willingness to learn about student assessment, cognitive strategies assessment, organization and collection of research data and coding, following human subject research protocol.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research Data Specialist I

* Assist lab coordinator to ensure collection of data is well organized and distributed properly for coding.
* Assist in preparing data for coding and storage.
* Assist with changes to study protocol through coding RedCap programs
* Work alongside various lab members to ensure understanding of protocols
* Assist in scoring and coding data collected
* Organize collected data
* Assist lab coordinator with basic analysis of primary data collected
* Work with various team members to examine large datasets and establish hypotheses
* Analyses for longitudinal studies of program effects
* Datamining of large state held databases
* IRB compliance and proposal writing
* Assist with manuscript development
* Confer with PI regarding program directions and analytical methodology for enhancing programmatic outcomes
Research Data Specialist II

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The Center for BrainHealth is a non-smoking research facility located mile west of Love Field in the medical district of Dallas. Office Environment. Long hours on computer. Travel to school facilities may be required.
