Job Summary	Oversees the daily operations of the energy management and HVAC efforts on campus. Supervises EMS staff; initiates work procedures; inspects maintenance performed by outside contractors and technicians; initiates requisitions for supplies and equipment; coordinates utilities operations with the Central Energy Plant Superintendent; continuously reviews all systems to improve efficiency for energy conservation; and inspects mechanical systems under construction and oversees system start-up and commissioning. Handle all personnel issues related to the shop. Review maintenance contracts and track warranty items/building for new contracts.
Minimum Education and Experience	High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years experience in the operation and maintenance of steam generating, power generating, refrigeration, and/or data acquisition equipment, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Education and Experience	EPA Universal certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities	Supervise the installation, operation and maintenance of utility equipment. Assign and create work orders for EMS staff using work management system. Monitor campus building automation systems. Coordinate and inspect work performed by contractors and EMS technicians. Attend meetings, review mechanical blueprints, renew annual contracts, and track warranty parts. Estimation and bidding of projects. Other duties as assigned.
