The Department of Biomedical Engineering is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to execute the harmonization of existing large cohorts of CT lung image data, acquired from multiple sites. To assist with the importation of said data into a database that will be shared among the medical community to understand and treat lung diseases processes such as COPD and emphysema.

1) Understand the structure of existing cohorts of lung CT images.

2) Carry out quality control of lung CT images to ensure inclusion in deep learning models.

3) Understand and carry out the uploading / importation of large numbers of CT lung scans into a national archival database, and insure functionality, integrity and correctness of the data once in place.

4) Collaborate with data center coordinators to acquire and transfer new CT lung images into the national repository, once harmonized.

5) Provide timely updates on the status, identify any problems / bottlenecks regarding the timely progression / advancement of harmonization work at weekly research group meetings.

Must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent in the fields of Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Data Science. Experience in programming in Python, C++, MatLab is desired. Experience in machine and deep learning models with a background in medical imaging.
