Job Summary |
Responsible for overseeing and managing nursing staff, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient healthcare environment, while also providing leadership and guidance to the nursing team. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSRN) and current Texas license. Minimum of two years of general medical or emergency triage in a hospital or clinical setting. Skilled use of all equipment normally required for use in a student health facility. General computer skills, CPR, and AED trained. |
Preferred Education and Experience |
- Prior training or certification in Infection Control and Prevention
- Prior experience as a nursing supervisor or charge nurse

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
* Provides general nursing services to patients requiring professional nursing care.
* Assists physicians with patient examination.
* Administers medications/injections as prescribed by competent medical authority.
* Ensures proper patient records are maintained.
* Assists with managing the clinic's medical inventory system; arranges for adequate medical supplies and equipment necessary for proper patient care, including medication and vaccines stocked in a class D pharmacy.
* Assists in the implementation of specific medical clinics.
* Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
* Oversees the clinic's comprehensive Infection Control and Prevention program.
* Responsible for recommending changes, providing training, and staying up to date with current rules and regulations regarding the Student Health Centers' Infection Control program.
* Assists with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating preventive health education programs for students.
* Aid in general laboratory tests and emergency care.
* Assists with patient referrals and scheduling radiology procedures and at provider requests.
* Supervises 1 Registered Nurse, 2 Licensed Vocational Nurses, and 3 Certified Medical Assistants, including hiring recommendations, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. |

Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the
DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
