Job Description

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people by solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a dedicated Architectural Designer II to join our talented team at our office located in Burlington, MA.

In this role, you will work with a team of Designers, Architects, and Engineers to assist with the design and development of architectural projects in an effort to help meet or exceed the expectations of the client.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of the design documentation for the following design phases; master planning, schematic, preliminary, and construction documentation.
  • Assists more senior department personnel and Architectural Designers I&II with design solutions by having the ability to interpret mark-up drawings and execute changes on the project based on such mark-ups.
  • Uses Revit to develop architectural design documentation that aligns with company BIM/CAD standards.
  • Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.
  • Keeps Project Team aware of the workload and requests work when needed.
  • Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion.
  • Interacts with clients on a limited basis to secure scope and design intent.
  • Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to ensure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
  • Supports field visits and site surveys when accompanied by more senior departmental personnel.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 4-6 years of previous architectural design office experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree; Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree.
  • Is highly proficient in the use of Autodesk Revit and possess a strong understanding of BIM workflows.
  • General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Life Sciences Industry experience.
  • Having a fundamental understanding of building codes.
  • NAAB Accreditation.

Travel duration, if any, is based on project complexity and location. This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
