Position Description The Product Engineer reports to the Engineering Director within Heat Transfer Solutions(HTS) - Coils Group. This person will work to design/develop heat exchangers to expand the product line(s) within the Coils Group. This position will also support the transfer of products that span across plants and/or regions. Key Responsibilities Ability to work closely with various departments within Modine, i.e. operations, engineering, sales, programmers, and other product engineers. Support improvements/changes to software programs used to cost or predict heat exchanger performance. Design & Develop new products and supporting documentation based on project scope, market needs and regulatory requirements (UL and/or AHRI) Evaluates and designs heat exchangers by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and materials. Interface with other Modine , HTS manufacturing locations, and/or customers to assure a smooth transition from one region to another with global product development. Develop manufacturing processes or process improvements and documentation. Support customer applications with heat transfer and heat exchanger designs. Review of approval and manufacturing drawing packages. Support product development projects related to new heat exchanger technology, refrigerants/fluids, etc. Required Education & Qualifications Bachelors Degree in engineering or related technical discipline with 2 - 5 years engineering experience with a strong fundamental background and/or experience in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and psychometrics. The ideal candidate would have previous experience with heat exchanger design within the HVAC&R market. The person should have a working knowledge of FEA & CFD software, a CAD System, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem solving skills plus good communication skills are a must. Bilingual in Spanish is a bonus Why Choose Modine?
