Rotating equipment- Millwright

Location: Bay City, TX 77414

Position type: Contract to hire

Pay: $30-$35/HR

Experience/Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience of rotating equipment and machinery
  • Chemical Plants experience preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proven time-management skills and task prioritization
  • Experience with hydraulic components such as bearings, seals, shafts, and Industrial machinery such as motors, compressors, gearboxes, pumps, steam turbines cylinders, gears, couplings, linkages, coolant systems, blowers, mixers and filters.
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of SAP data entry system or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, kneeling, etc.).
  • Able to travel to different chemical plants using company's car



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Maintain, dismantle, repair, and reassemble mechanical and hydraulic components (e. g. bearings, seals, shafts, etc.) on industrial machinery such as motors, compressors, gearboxes, pumps, steam turbines, cylinders, gears, couplings, linkages, coolant systems, blowers, mixers and filters.
  • Read and interpret blueprints for the mechanical operation and assembly of rotating equipment.
  • Ensure equipment quality by verifying alignment, dimensions, and clearances using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, laser alignment tools).
  • Perform geometric calculations for proper fan blade pitch.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify any issues or malfunctions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems using critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage priorities, meet deadlines, and expectations.
  • Frequently climb ladders and stairs
